LaVale – Just in time for Christmas, LaVale native John Snyder’s holiday story, “The Golden Ring,” is back on the shelves at area bookstores. Snyder, who has scheduled several book-signing events in local stores this month, says the novelette has exceeded his greatest expectations and is even being featured in the Nov. 14 issue of Family Circle magazine.
“The Golden Ring” was inspired by Snyder’s grandmother, Anna Snyder, who died shortly after the book was published in 1999. It is the tale of a young girl growing up in the railroad town of Meyersdale, Pa., during the early 1900s, and a miraculous event that occurred on one special Christmas.
Published by Mountain Breeze Publishing and distributed nationally by Ingram Book Co., “The Golden Ring” is available at Borders Books & Music, Books-A-Million, Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks, B. Dalton Books, Crown and Super Crown Bookstores, Hastings Books and other independent booksellers.
Snyder will be available for book signings at Waldenbooks in the County Club Mall on Friday form 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
The author will also sign books Saturday form 10 a.m. to noon at Main Street Books in Frostburg, and from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Book Center on North Centre Street in Cumberland.
On Nov. 25 he will be in the County Club Mall Center Court from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Nov 26 from noon to 6 p.m.
